Hi Paul,

It depends on how many data  dimensions you have enabled of course, but my
experience is that you can have quite a few before it becomes difficult to
navigate the left side menu in the analytics modules.

But looking at it from the other side, why collect this extra dimension it
if it's so rarely needed in analysis?

There are a few more possibilities for your chart, but it depends on
whether the your data element(s) have other categories in the category
combination. If FP device is the only category then you can use the details
option in the data element selection on DV. Select all the detailed data
elements (with category options, your FP devices) and put the data
dimensions on series in your chart.

If you have other categories combined with FP devices then you have to use
an indicator to add together your category option combinations for each FP
device.
If your chart aggregates together data for multiple data elements for each
device, then you must add all these data elements together in the indicator
as well.

I find it a lot easier to enable the category as a data dimension.
