[Bug 306053] [NEW] feature request: option to exclude folders from being indexed

Public bug reported:

In the files and folders plugin, it would be very nice to have an option
to exclude folders from indexing. Not an option to remove a folder from
the indexing list (which already exists), but a second list, of folders
to be excluded from indexing.

Consider the following scenario. You have many folders in your home
directory, and you're frequently adding new ones there. You want them
all indexed, including the new ones, therefore you set the plugin to
index your home directory. But among those many useful folders, there
might be a few that you *do not* want indexed; if they have many files,
that actually becomes a performance hindrance. The only way to cope with
that now is by adding each folder in the home directory to the index
list, and adding new folders manually -- which is time-consuming.
