I've been using the Volume add-on a fair amount lately, and something I
noticed is that 5% of volume at a time is not enough. I find that I
usually want to adjust 10-30% of my volume at a time, so I find 5% to be
rather tedious.

So, I have two suggested solutions:
1. Allow users to set the value that it changes in the config file (probably overkill) 
2. Set it to do 10% or even 15% of the volume at a time.

Summoning do 2-3 times to adjust the volume is just a bit too much, in
my opinion.
