Re: [Bug 1228459] Re: Item #1 states wrong side for icon

Hi Doug:
Yes, I am referring to item #1. Can I ask you . . .am I mistaken or is this a (small) bug? It is not a big deal, but for someone who is not very good with computers, I could see how it would be quite confusing. I am just trying to be a helpful member of the "community". I have taken quite an interest in these alternative O.S's because of all the issues I have had and am still having with Windows especially XP. I almost gave up on Ubuntu 13.04 because my perfectly good Lexmark X2650 all in one just does not work with it at all. If you notice, there are many people asking about this particular printer on the help pages as well as myself before. Now that I have sorted out the problem with the printer, I am quite pleased and intend to further educate myself about how all this stuff works. The advantages seem to be many. Thank you for your comments. Have a great weekend. Stan

Title:
Item #1 states wrong side for icon

Status in “ubuntu-docs” package in Ubuntu:
  New

Bug description:
In the description to add a printer, it states to click the system
settings icon on the far right side. The system settings icon is on
the far left side. Perhaps the author was facing the wrong way when he
was in front of the monitor. In my best attempt to follow guidelines,
the release (distro in Linux lingo) of Ubuntu I am using is 13.04. I
have no idea of what version of what package that is being referred to
in step #2. After spending weeks trying to get my Lexmark X2650
printer to work, and combing through reams of troubleshooting, support
and help articles, I finally looked at a video on Youtube and was
indirectly informed that Lexmark printers do not work with Linux.
Finally, I tried a cheap HP D1660 printer and to my utter surprise had
a working printer in less than 2 minutes. The moral......don't even
bother if the printer is not on the list provided
