Message #00355
[Bug 1268297] [NEW] Topics not covered by help. (Improve this guide)
Public bug reported:
1. By its very nature resolving #327770 might solve this too. I didn't
find the How To.
2. Context - I am trying to install Google World. If that is not a
supported process, and if you deliberately do not support the Google
install it would be nice to have a pointer somewhere to that sort of
possibility.
3. I could not find it in the Ubuntu store. I finally found it (for
Ubuntu 64bit) using Google search.
It downloaded (Firefox) & afteer some long worrying silences (not
good) & some prodding (even worse?) the Ubuntu installer said it was
installing.
Google said thankyou (web page)
4. I have done a warm restart because I could not find it on my desktop.
I still can't find it as a user.
5. If I sudo, find it and manage to launch it, it is not clear how I
then would iconise the process.
Ths bug report is explaining why I think the user guide will not meet
the needs of a 'user' who would like to install Google Earth. A work-
around would be very welcome but it is not the real point! There are
generic gaps in the user guide which this specific problem exposes.
Thanks
