[Bug 1609802] [NEW] Upgrader Issues
Public bug reported:
A notification pops up on the desktop on a fresh start. It suggests upgrade from 14.04 to 16.04. However, there are various bugs.
1. The program is unidentified and so one does not know how to restart it if cancelled. This is especially important since it gives no time frame for the future reminder when selected.
2. It fails to list the size of the download, something that is absolutely necessary for data-limited Internet connections.
3. It fails to confirm the architecture and offer a change.
4. It fails to list the LTS period.
5. When begun, it does a calculation and then reports the changes that will be applied. However, when the user attempts to expand the details of the changes, the window disappears below the bottom of the screen with no scroll bar. It is therefore impossible to know all the changes that will be made.
6. It fails to explain the reasons for the various changes except for rather nebulous categories.
7. It fails to allow user selected changes.
8. Its calculation on time to complete is way off.
I cannot use it as it is.
I am using
