lock screen

Bug description:
I use Ubuntu 24.04 LTS
in the menu: privacy & security - lock screen the blank screen delay setting is set to never, automatic screen lock is off, lock screen on suspend is off
in the power menu: power saving: screen off is marked as never, auto sleep is off.
But still my screen keeps turning off by itself after a short period
of time and worse, my programs all close. How to resolve this?
