[fmII] DOLFIN 0.5.3 released (Default branch)

This email is to inform you about the release of version '0.5.3' of
'DOLFIN' through freshmeat.net. All URLs and other useful information can
be found at

    http://freshmeat.net/projects/dolfin/

The changes in this release are as follows:
The new system based on FFC and PETSc is now in place: variational
forms are evaluated through FFC and the linear algebra is handled by
a new set of easy-to-use C++ wrappers for PETSc (but far from
complete). Only the Poisson module has been moved to the new system,
but more modules will follow. Other important changes include the
addition of mono-adaptive cG(q) and dG(q) ODE-solvers that can also
handle implicit and complex ODEs. A homotopy solver that
automatically generates the homotopy for a given (polynomial)
nonlinear system has also been added.

Project description:
DOLFIN is the C++ interface of the FEniCS project for the Automation
of Computational Mathematical Modeling (ACMM). It includes tools for
the solution of ordinary differential equations (ODE) and partial
differential equations (PDE). It is developed at the Toyota
Technological Institute at Chicago and the Chalmers University of
Technology.
