No, it doesn't work. Petsc/Slepc is still not found during
configuration, and linking fails with the same metis errors:

Undefined symbols:
  "_METIS_mCPartGraphRecursive2", referenced from:

      _PartitionSmallGraph__ in libparmetis.a(weird.o)
