[Question #127562]: Calculations on unbounded domain
New question #127562 on DOLFIN:
https://answers.launchpad.net/dolfin/+question/127562
Hello,
I would like to calculate magnetic field of
a specific configuration of coils and ferromagnetic parts in empty
infinite space. Does FEniCS/dolfin provide any framework for
calculations on unbounded domains?
I have used getdp before, where one can apply spherical
or parallelpipedic shell transformation on the exterior part
of computational domain, which makes it finite. A nice
article on this topic is
http://www.cedrat.com/fileadmin/user_upload/cedrat_groupe/Publications/Publications/Older/1992_FEM_FrontieresOuvertes_Anglais_Brunotte_Compumag.pdf
These methods basically require using different equations (different
jacobian) on exterior and interior parts.
Is it possible to do this in dolfin?
Best regards
Stepan
