I would like to add something here...
By default the description window below the "search results" window give
more information on the item currently selected. On top of just showing
the description for the category or package group it should give
information about how it relates to your seach criteria. So one way of
doing this is e.g.
If you have selected the following search criteria:
Target Env: Gnome
Language: C++, PHP, Java
And your highlight Eclipse in the search results window, the description
would be:
Category: /Tools Category/IDE
Target Env: Gnome
Language: C++, Java
Description:
bla bla bla
Note that Eclipse also applies to other target environments and
lanaguages, but the results only show those that you have selected.
This allows you to see how it fits your criteria. In this case you'll
see immediately that Eclipse does not handle PHP (which you've
selected). So now you can browse through your results and pick the most
appropriate tools
In the case where you have not specified a language, the "language"
field in the description will show all the languages to which Eclipse
applies.
It's just a way of "enabling" a guy to make the best choices.

Charl
