[Bug 1242026] [NEW] Dash search not finding programs?

Public bug reported:

It is the first time I search for Cinelerra. Searching "cinele" in Dash
only shows a Cinelerra icon I made on the desktop ("cinelerra.desktop").
Searching again, but with first uppercase letter ("Cinele") shows the
normal Cinelerra program, as it should. Dash Search should not be case
sensitive, who searches with upper+lower letters? I searched again for
"cinele" and now I get both the program and my desktop icon in the files
category.

I could see this in at least another case: dash did not find a program,
but after running it from terminal, then it appeared in Dash.

I do not know how it works, it is not intuitive when I cannot anticipate
it's reaction to my actions. If it is some kind of "feature", please
make it's interaction clear.
