  tests fail when building with fakeroot

Status in “libdbusmenu” package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  To reproduce:

  sudo apt-get build-dep libdbusmenu
  apt-get source libdbusmenu
  cd libdbusmenu*
  fakeroot dpkg-buildpackage

  Result: nearly all of the tests fail to run properly:

  FAIL: test-glib-events-nogroup

  PASS: test-glib-simple-items
  FAIL: test-glib-submenu

  Each test hangs for about 10 minutes before failing.

  All of the error logs are the same:

  The json test does not eventually die like the others, instead it just
  hangs forever (over 2.5 hours now.) The log files contains:
