To reproduce:

sudo apt-get build-dep libdbusmenu
apt-get source libdbusmenu
cd libdbusmenu*
fakeroot dpkg-buildpackage

Result: nearly all of the tests fail to run properly:

Each test hangs for about 10 minutes before failing.
