[Bug 997758] Re: gnome battery indicator missing in 12.04/12.10
Incidentally, I no longer have the "Show battery status in the menu bar"
option in power settings at all.

Bug description:
This is 12.04 Precise, with Unity turned off, using Gnome.
Multiple users are reporting the panel battery indicator is missing.

System Settings -> Power
Show battery status in the menu bar
is blank when the window opens, but non-blank values don't take.
