[Bug 1268146] [NEW] Very high cpu usage for compiz in 14.04 (mesa incorrectly using llvmpipe)
Public bug reported:
I just upgraded to 14.04, and I'm seeing 50%-500% cpu usage from compiz.
Strangely, glxinfo reports this, which is totally incorrect - I'm
running on Intel Sandy Bridge HD3000 graphics and VMware isn't even
installed on this PC:
OpenGL vendor string: VMware, Inc.
OpenGL renderer string: Gallium 0.4 on llvmpipe (LLVM 3.4, 256 bits)
OpenGL version string: 2.1 Mesa 10.0.1
So I guess that compiz might be using lots of cpu because it's using
llvmpipe as the renderer. So is this a mesa bug?
