Title:
Dash misses some characters when typing fast

Status in Unity:
  Invalid
Status in unity package in Ubuntu:

Bug description:
  PC: P4 2,2 GHz
  1500 MB RAM

When pressing SUPER on my old P4 and start typing the Dash misses
sometimes the first 1-2 characters I entered. Okay, my test system is
old but using the HUD never leads to lost characters.

Knowing that the Dash misses sometimes the first characters leads me
to wait for the Dash to open up completely before I start usually to
  type my search terms.

I would like that the Dash catches any key pressed after the user
activates the Dash by pressing SUPER - even when the Dash is not
entirely visible. This would make the Dash feel snappier.

Remember not everyone has a fast computer out there (Netbooks, old
  PCs...)

Tried to open the Dash by pressing SUPER and wrote fast - but not super fast - 'update'.
