Message #43363
[Bug 877443] Re: Grid plugin incompatible with Put plugin
I wrote a patch for the put plugin that fixes bounce behavior. Not sure
if it fixes all behavior described in this issue.

Title:
Grid plugin incompatible with Put plugin
Status in compiz-plugins-main package in Ubuntu:
Confirmed
Bug description:
I am using Compiz 0.9.6 under Xubuntu 11.10.
If I enable the Grid plugin, and use a keyboard shortcut to
resize/place a window, I can no longer use the Put-plugin to move it
around on the screen. As soon as the Put plugin is done moving it (ie
the move-animation is complete), it snaps back to whereever Grid
placed it. I can move the window fine with the mouse, but Bug #745159
prevents me from disabling "Snap windows back to original size", so
the window loses the size Grid has set for it.
Furthermore, using 'Put Center' (Ctrl-Alt-KP_5) several times to cycle
through window sizes, will place the window on another display (my
"primary" display, according to XFCE), with no way of moving it back,
aside from dragging it, thereby losing the size set by Grid (as noted
above).
This worked for me in Ubuntu Maverick with Compiz 0.8.6.
