[Bug 880606] [NEW] Calibre crashes randomly

Public bug reported:

This is the code after initiaite Calibre from the terminal:

QSpiAdaptor::getChild INVALID CHILD:  QStackedWidget(0xb5a04b90, name = "stackedWidget") 2
ASSERT: "interface->childCount() == children.count()" in file adaptor.cpp, line 200
Aborted
The program closed.

I tried the Ubuntu Oneiric 11.10 version of Calibre, then the version that is in the Calibre web page.
I have Ubuntu Oneiric Ocelot 11.10, all packages up-to-date.

calibre:
  Installed: (none)
  Candidate: 0.8.8+dfsg-1ubuntu1
  Version table:
     0.8.8+dfsg-1ubuntu1 0
        500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric/universe i386 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

I expect not to crash the program. This happens after upgrading to
11.10. When in 11.04, Calibre had no problems at all.

What else is needed to report?

** Affects: calibre (Ubuntu)
