Public bug reported:

If I try to open or save a drawing from the menus the program will close
immediately.  If I double click a drawing name in Nautilus, however the
program will open and I can work on the drawing.  I cannot, however save
it as the program closes.

Ubuntu 11.10 32 bit.

Very similar problem with Synaptic package manager (closes after
loading), Skype (closes after logging in), Konversation (closes after
selecting "settings" bug report submitted on this one.
