Yeah! So, but I don't know how to start. I gathered this got designed well but rather hacked up quickly? Guillaume said he was not satisfiedby the code, I believe. So, I was wondering, can somebody document things about the design/architecture on the Wiki. Add something about the current state, things that need work (conceptual-, onthology- or implentation wise) and how to test and work with it. For most, RDF is a "new" area.
Florian and I were planning to write such a documentation soon so that everyone can start hacking on it with a clear overview of the architecture. Actually, although I overheard quite a lot of the original design discussions, I wasn't involved in the media scanner task, so that should be a good exercise from a relatively fresh perspective, and should prove the validity of the architecture, or point out design issues.
Secondly, would it be good to get other Desktop media onthology people involved and make this more worldly?
It seems to me that Fernando did quite some in-depth research of the existing ontologies and picked up what already exists as much as possible, the idea being not to re-invent the wheel. To be confirmed by him and/or Guillaume...
