[Bug 1348259] [NEW] Openldap config modify tls error

 

Public bug reported:

Following the steps to setup and configure openldap with a master and a
slave.  When configuring the slave for TLS running the command as per
the instructions on https://help.ubuntu.com/14.04/serverguide/openldap-
server.html#openldap-tls-replication the following error occurs:

sudo ldapmodify -Y EXTERNAL -H ldapi:/// -f consumer_sync_tls.ldif
SASL/EXTERNAL authentication started
SASL username: gidNumber=0+uidNumber=0,cn=peercred,cn=external,cn=auth
SASL SSF: 0
modifying entry "olcDatabase={1}hdb,cn=config"
ldap_modify: Other (e.g., implementation specific) error (80)
	additional info: Error: parse_syncrepl_line: unable to parse "bindmethod=simplebinddn=cn=admin,dc=example,dc=com"
