[Question #707403]: Backport Samba Bug #15418 to Ubuntu LTS
New question #707403 on samba in Ubuntu:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+question/707403
Hey there,
the latest Windows Update from July 2023 (KB5028166) breaks the secure channel to a samba domain controller. This will prevent a RDP login to domain joined computers if a domain user account is used. A fix for this was already developed and released: https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=15418
Currently we're running multiple samba domain controllers on Ubuntu 20.04 and Ubuntu 22.04, which now have a broken secure channel and we cannot login via RDP anymore. Is there any change that this bufix will be backported to the samba package of Ubuntu 20.04, 22.04?
>From my point of view this bug is somehow critical, because some Samba DC features will break when the users will install the Windows update, which has some unexpected side effects.
Thank you very much in advance!
