Re: Video Card drivers
hey Adam:
I had a client that not too long ago that purchased some kind of HP 12
inch Business Notebook (i forget the model number). Anyways, this had
an intel chipset, and i was having problems with the display. Sometimes
the display would look proper (1280x800 resolution), but at randoms
times, when rebooting, the display would default back to 1024x768. What
i did was enable Unsupported updates (jaunty-backports), in Software
Sources, and i'm sure i probably installed the
"linux-backports-modules-jaunty" package, so perhaps give those two
things a try. What i did notice shortly after i installed the system
(and enabled Unsupported updates, and also installed the backports
package), was that i noticed an update to the Intel "xorg" drivers in
Update Manager, and after that, when rebooting and logging in after a
few tries, i didn't see anything wierd going on with the display.
So anyways, give that a try too.
