[Gnome Activity Journal] Today button UI suggestion

Hey everyone,

I had an idea concerning the today button in GAJ. Just wanted to throw
this out there and see what the devs would think instead of filing a bug
or anything formal.

Right now, when displaying the current day GAJ colors the header of the
view differently than other days (using a different color from the GTK
theme). For example, in (Ubuntu) Ambiance orange is used. This is the
case in all three views. Let's call this color "the today color".

Also, all three views use the back and forward buttons, on the left and
right side of the view widgets, respectively. The forward button area
also contains a button for jumping directly to the current day (i.e.
"the today button"). The today button is colored the same as the header
of the current day, but only if the user is looking at the day before
the current day (yesterday). If the user goes further back the today
button switches to the normal color (the same as the normal forward and
backward buttons).

I would like to propose a change: the today button should always be
colored with the today color (not only while viewing "yesterday").

Rationale: associating a specific color with the current day is a useful
UI convention, but it should be acted on consistently. If a user
associates a specific color with today, coloring the button that jumps
to today the same color would aid a little in discoverability,
consistency and UI intuitiveness of the feature. Additionally, maybe
coloring the "forward" button with the today color, only when viewing
"yesterday", would add a little UI intuitiveness as well.

I don't pretend to be a UI expert or anything, just wanted to share this
idea and see what people think. :)

This is based on my observations with bzr1144.

Cheers,
Tin
