[Bug 883749] [NEW] Time Reporting is lacking

Public bug reported:

One of the main use cases for GAJ for me is a better understanding of
the use of my time. I have been hoping/waiting for GAJ to have better
time reporting -- I just read https://answers.launchpad.net/gnome-
activity-journal/+question/136404 which deals with this; but apparently
this use case isn't in a blueprint? So I thought I'd submit it as a
bug. do with it what you will. ;-)

BACKGROUND
Currently I use GAJ/Zeitgeist to complement the hamster program for gnome, which is a time tracking program. Other than that, Zeitgeist and GAJ is mostly a novelty. However, I could envision GAJ/Zeitgeist ultimately replacing hamster assuming applications I use are dataproviders and then if GAJ allows me to massage the data so it can more eaisly (and automatically) be categorized.

IMMEDIATE FIX
Immediately what is needed is the ability to view details of an event in timeline view. Seems absurd to me there is no way to view the "detailed" timestamp of an event. I need it for better time tracking (review) and billing. I need to know exactly how many minutes were spent on an event.

Would you be open to patches for this fix?

LONG-TERM FIX
Blue sky improvements on getting essential information back out of Zeitgeist using GAJ would be the ability to:

1) add/edit/delete CATEGORIES for events: [think clients / projects]
2) add/edit/delete TAGS for events: [think tasks, groups, etc]
3) GAJ to report subtotals in a timeline/histogram/report view: for categories &/or tags based on day, possibly week, and ultimate would be both and an option to filter by time-range and maybe either a category or tag.

JUSTIFICATION
To me, users being able to categorize their time seems fundamental to Zeitgeist, which if I understand aims to aggregate activities. Whats the point of aggregation without assigning meaning? That said, it seems equally important to understand time spent on activity. Hence... I submit this bug report for your consideration
