Re: [Question #689011]: some recipe photos won't upload
Question #689011 on Gourmet changed:
https://answers.launchpad.net/gourmet/+question/689011
Thomas Garrison proposed the following answer:
Sometimes, when you see an image in a Web site, the site attempts to
stop you from saving the image, so they use an extension that allows
browsers to read the image but it's not a standard image extension and
can't be used most other anywhere else but the Net.
When you find an image you want, you can right-click and "Save As". You
will see the name of the image plus a "period" (or dot) and then 3 to 4
characters. You can change those characters to: JPG; PNG; JPEG; etc.
(lower or upper case doesn't matter), and then save the image.
Example: myimage.webp is the name of an image you want to save from a Web site. Right-click on the image, select "Save As", and you will see a window open.
In that window at the bottom you will see the name of the image - in this example, myimage.webp - and below that you will see "Save as type".
Left click where it indicates WebP image (*.webp) and change that to "All files (*.*)".
Then, you will see "myimage.webp" as the image name, and you need to change myimage.webp to myimage.png and click Save.
Locate the image on your device where you saved the image and you will find the new image with ".png" at the end (the "extension").
As long as you can open the image on your device you will be able to use that image elsewhere.
PNG is the most popular image type today and since we already know that
PNG works with Gourmet Recipe Manager, just use that format.
