If it returned no data, you would have just sent a message to the list
asking why Graphite lost your data ;)
I continually see people have problems with Graphite+statsd. I think
that we should come up with sane defaults for statsd and include them
with the carbon configuration examples so that folks using statsd don't
run into nasty surprises.
Also, I think the web interface should show the retention rate for
metrics somehow, either in the nav tree or having a graph option to
print them with the metrics.
It's such a critical part of graphite and it's quite hidden IMHO.
