afaik for every point, the delta gets multiplied with the standard deviation to plot the bands.
in other words, bump the delta to get a wider band that is less strict,or a low delta to keep a narrow band. it's basically a way to trade off false negatives vs false positives.

FWIW I'm having the same TypeError, using latest git (as well as last
stable release), with or without supplying the delta parameter.
