Thanks for the bug report. 
That behaviour appeared a couple of days ago. It seems that something on the RTM side has changed, since the library I'm using just hangs upon login (also on its test cases).
I'm currently trying to figure that out.

Status in Getting Things GNOME!: Confirmed

Bug description:
Updated GTG Dec 13, to the latest version released for Ubuntu.

RTM plug-in is finally showing up. When I click to sync there is a message saying "Trying to access, please stand by". Sometimes after this box comes up I'm taken to RTM page to give API access to GTG. But even doing so I ALWAYS get a message "Couldn't connect to Remember the Milk".

None of my RTM are showing in GTG.
