Agreed, I'd also definitely like to see this. There's two sort orders I
can think of:

1. Same ordering as the tag list in the left sidepanel

2. By color id #.

The first seems the most obvious (and perhaps most directly useful)
arrangement. The second could be interesting as well, and would give
some meaning to color selection of tags (whether that's a pro or con
depends on how you've selected your colors!) It sounds weird but I
think visually seeing tasks organized chromatically would match
expectations; I think if it was done it should be an alternative sorting
mechanism if multiple sorting schemes can be done, but not the default.

Bug description:
Hello,

as requested in question #106266, I open a bug.

I think it whould be nice to be able to sort tasks by tags (as for title, dates...).
It would allow to keep together in the list tacks that share the same tag. Of course with several tags the question is which tag(s) to sort on...
As far as I can see there are no "priority" beetween tags (on the version I use, tags are in the exact order they were put in the task). The bug #496825 is related to the order of tags, but the order would not always be the one we want to use for sorting.

At the end let take a short example: I have tasks related to "work", with other tags such as "puppet", "documentation"... It would be nice to be able to simply group work+puppet+documentation tasks on the global list, without just re-ordering by hand the tasks in the list.

I'm not sure it is possible to find a solution for that feature that can works in any case, anyway.

Regards,
