[Bug 563328] Re: Add support for local file:/// style links

 

I am an engineer doing research in academic institution. So here is my
proposed workflow:

1) Open up GTG, find the related project. (See attached Fig. 1)

2) Click the link to the local folder to start working. (See attached
Fig. 2)

3) Open up the local folder, which usually contains the spreadsheet (I
dealt with data a lot) and a openoffice word file. (See attached Fig. 3)

4) The odt file itself can contain more links, thus I organize all my
related information there.  (See attached Fig. 4)

Status in Getting Things GNOME!: Incomplete

Bug description:
Say I have some related files to the task. Instead of attach to the task entry, I would like to be able to insert the link and simply open the file by click the link. 

Tomboy has this function. Could GTG also has it?
