Message #00384
Nanny translation permission policies
Hi Guadalinex members,
I'm contacting you because someone has pointed me out to the Nanny
translations at:
https://translations.launchpad.net/nanny
I've just noticed that you are using an Open translations model. That's
good to get a translations project up and running, but in the long run
translations quality suffers.
I would recommend using the following permissions for great
translations, which you can set up here:
https://translations.launchpad.net/nanny/+settings
* Translation group: Launchpad Translators
* Translation permissions policy: Restricted
* Translation Focus: (choose a series here)
If you wish, you'll find more info about the different translations
policies here:
https://help.launchpad.net/Translations/YourProject/PermissionPolicies
As a side note, you can also use the automatic exports feature of
Launchpad, which will automatically commit translations to a bzr branch
of your choice, saving you the need to export translations. You can
activate it here:
https://translations.launchpad.net/nanny/trunk/+translations-settings
Finally, there is generally no need to choose "Import template and
translation files" unless you are migrating or from an external project
and importing the translations. I'd suggest using simply "Import
template files".
This are only suggestions from my translator point of view, in the hope
that you can find them helpful.
Thanks, and keep up the good work!
Regards,
David.
