[Bug 808902] Re: gufw and a wizzard
I think an intro would be a great help to set-up GUFW. It is a gui after
all. But some basic help to set up for a basic desktop situation. An
advanced set-up for desktop users: think of limiting outbound traffic
with al "list" of ports which comes with "normal" internet activity.
53->DNS access/tcp/udp
67,68->DHCP
80,443->internet access, and https access
443 -> MSN (ssl)
1023-> Skype
1863 -> MSN messenger) Pidgin
5050 -> Yahoo
5190 -> AIM/ICQ
5222 -> XMPP (including Google Talk), jabber
6667 -> IRC (Freenode)
7000 en 7070 IRC via SSL( Freenode)
Optional port 43: whois server, port 11371/udp/tcp ubuntu keyserver
8001 IRC via Ubuntu
And an intro for the use of a server based situation. Basic. For an
advanced server set-up probl. iptables is a better choice.

Title:
gufw and a wizzard
Status in Gufw:
In Progress
Bug description:
Hi!
Is it an idea to come with a wizard for beginners to set up GUFW, and "teach" the options within GUFW?
Mind, beginners often have a windows background, and are very familiar using firewalls.
