The twitter API sends the original tweet as well as a retweet.  The
twitter web site displays the original tweet, but gives credit to the
retweeter.

Anyway, I posted a possible patch on the bug below:

Bug description:
  Retweets from twitter get cropped so it's not possible to click on a link if the link is at the end of the tweet
  To see the problem better I will attach two screenshots. One from my gwibber client and the other from the twitter web site with the retweeted tweet.
