Actually, no (to my understanding).

The reason why translations are required to be BSD is so that they can
be relicensed as part of the overall project.

See the copyright notice on all the .po files:
"# This file is distributed under the same license as the gwibber package."

So the translations are effectively dual licensed BSD and GPL.
