Re: Twitter API Proxy Support for Gwibber 2.0

hi Charles,

yeah, twitter is filtered in iran too but it's accessible via SSL. as
gwibber uses SSL by default I don't have any problem here ( in iran ).

anyway I'm agree with you that gwibber needs to have proxy settings
except gnome's proxy settings so if user wants to use only gwibber
behind a proxy ( not other apps ) he/she can :)

let's see what are other opinions ;)

Hi Guys,

I tried Gwibber 2.0 Preview on Ubuntu 9.04 last night. Gwibber 2.0 is the best micoblog client under the Linux platform. Thanks for all of your hard work.

I like microblogging, but the best and most popular micro-blog, Twitter, had been blocked in China for quite a long time, as well as Iran.

We can still keep tweeting, but it's quite troublesome. A better way for me is to use a Twitter client with Twitter API Proxy support.

For example, my current colution is Spaz+Twip (http://code.google.com/p/twip) proxy. But Spaz is not perfect enough in Ubuntu.

So I hope you can add Twitter API Proxy feature on Gwibber 2.0.

Thanks

Charles Peng
