Hi Nigel! Thanks for looking into this. I should mention that the
original bug report was filed a while ago on the old design and we
probably forgot to close it. It's always good to double-check things,
though, so no problem!

The only way to have alt text there is an html IMG tag. I remember
trying that but I couldn't get the layout right. You may have better
luck, but it isn't really a problem; the different coloured dots are
strictly decoration, like large text in a title.

All that sort of metadata is collected in the opportunity-summary
element. So, for an opportunity that is Easy and Applied we have “Easy,
Applied" in subscripts right next to the opportunity description. (While
the description itself has a blue dot — for the time being — a line
through it).

With CSS, opportunity-summary is styled fairly unobtrusively. Without,
of course, it's much more obvious. (I gave it the gruelling links2 test
and it worked okay).
