[Bug 962444] Re: holland-lvm should support includes as it does excludes

I think this is reasonable. LVM originally didn't do this as there was
no support to lookup the innodb shared files that might need to be
captured. Amsterdam supports this approach easily now with the tar
archiving method and I think following the xtrabackup behavior here is
ideal, particularly along with additional customizability of the tar
arguments we will support in the future.

This won't be added or backported to 1.0, however.

Title:
holland-lvm should support includes as it does excludes

Status in Holland Backup Framework:
  New

Bug description:
Currently LVM supports exclude and does not copy the socket by
default. It might be nice to have an option to only include, perhaps
mimicing the xtrabackup behavior, such as:

120322 16:27:52 innobackupex-1.5.1: Finished backing up .frm, .MRG,
.MYD, .MYI, .TRG, .TRN, .ARM, .ARZ, .CSV, .CSM and .opt files

Of course we also want ibdata* and */*.ibd
