Currently LVM supports exclude and does not copy the socket by default.
It might be nice to have an option to only include, perhaps mimicing the
xtrabackup behavior, such as:

120322 16:27:52  innobackupex-1.5.1: Finished backing up .frm, .MRG,
.MYD, .MYI, .TRG, .TRN, .ARM, .ARZ, .CSV, .CSM and .opt files

Of course we also want ibdata* and */*.ibd
