OTOH, the Mongo data dir is *huge* due to a lot of space allocation,which makes LVM somewhat less attractive. On the plus side itcompresses well - my 3.7G datadir with only a couple small collectionscompressed to 3.6M with the default gzip compression. But a mongodump

directory was 44k and compressed to 604 bytes. :/
