[Bug 1076217] Re: batch process window uncontrollable

I have managed to get a reduced size example - two small tiffs and the .pto file.
The images are too small to get anything useful out of auto-CP with default settings, so I created those manually.

To replicate, run 64-bit hugin, load the project file, and just go
directly to the "stitch" button on the stitcher page.

Other notes:
I have only just found the batch processor system tray icon (by default not visible, so I never knew it existed). Using right-click->exit will successfully shut down the stalled main window of PTBatcherGUI.

However, if I then try to run a new batch I get "PTBAtcherGUI.exe has stopped working". The details" say:

Also, If I run PTBatcherGUI directly from the hugin-x64 bin folder then I get the same message, once or twice, and then it runs.
Sometimes, when I run the PTBAtcherGUI directly, it will immediately display the tiff warning dialogue box, but will leave it up there for me to dismiss. However, I cannot find the conditions to reproduce this behaviour - I suspect it relates to the status of the projects saved in the list.

To make my confusion complete, loading the .pto file directly into the
PTBatcherGUI project list, and starting it from there, does _not_ cause
the tiff warning dialogue to appear.

Title:
  batch process window uncontrollable

The creation process seems to run properly, the output files are created, but the batch window never receives focus.
I cannot kill it except by using task manager (end process of PTBatcherGUI).

I am stitching 16-bit tiffs produced by Canon DPP.
When I start the batch process, the batch window opens on top of Hugin, then the current task opens a status/progress window on top of that, and the tiff library warning box (labelled "Hugin warning") appears on top of that again.
The warning details just say "Tiff ReadDirectory" many times over.

If I dismiss the tiff warning then it seems to work as expected.
If I just watch it, then when the stitch is finished, the status/progress window and tiff warning both disappear but the PTBatcherGUI can never regain focus. The tiff warning does not just get hidden under other windows, it disappears - as the problem remains if I resize/move them to different parts of the screen.
