[Bug 1307457] Re: focal length as reported by the GUI incorrect

This was already discussed in the mailing list: Hugins definition of the
focal length refers to the undistorted image.

> One can easily test this by using different projections for the lens model.
This can not be calculated this way. The focal length is connected with the projection. A fisheye lens has a completely different focal length than a rectilinear lens of the same fov.

Title:
focal length as reported by the GUI incorrect

Status in Hugin - Panorama Tools GUI:
  Invalid

Bug description:
The focal length as shown in the GUI is incorrect. One has to
multiply this values by (1-a-b-c) to get the proper focal length.
This is because Hugin's distortion model scales the picture by this
factor, thus affecting the resulting focal length. See also the
  discussion at http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.comp.misc.ptx/34865

One can easily test this by using different projections for the lens
model. This yields different values for the focal length. However,
multiplied by (1-a-b-c), the value is (within residual errors) the
  same.
