Yes, but at this time I had Ubuntu 12.

As I am not an expert, I did not change any value, and everything is by 
default.  I checked: Autopano -SHIFT (not Autopano-SHIFT-C).

P.S. If it can help you, I attach two pictures. On the one hand, Hugin 
is unable to automatically define control points, but, on the other 
hand, when I manually define just two or three, it works well. BTW, 
thanks for this great tool!

P.P. S. There is a very minor bug in the French version. When I close 
the window, there are three choices:
"Enregistrer sans fermer",  "Annuler", "Enregistrer"
The first one should be "Fermer sans enregistrer".

  Ubuntu 14.10, no automatic control points

Status in Hugin - Panorama Tools GUI:

Bug description:
  No automatic control points any more (it worked under Ubuntu 12). I
  now always have to add them manually, even for "obvious"  and easy
  panoramas.
