[Bug 1446907] [NEW] feature request, optimizer exposure hint please
Public bug reported:
Please make it more obvious why Optimizer and Exposure tabs are missing
and the View menu has them disabled. My suggestion is in the View menu
when they are disabled change the menu item to "Optimizer (auto
selected)" and the same for Exposure. That lets the user know that the
feature hasn't been dropped from hugin, it isn't missing because didn't
have the right dependencies when it was compiled, and that there's
probably a setting someplace that will enable it again. It's too bad
there isn't enough space for something like, "Optimizer (parameters
selected from Photos tab in the lower combo box, use Custom Parameters
to enable)", but maybe that could go in a tooltip.
I think it would be more obvious and better to just put those combo
boxes in the Optimizer and Exposure tabs, and disable the rest of the
dialog when they aren't set to custom.
I too upgraded hugin (newer Debian release), and had a 360 panorama that
needed a lens FOV correction, but no optimizer and view had it grayed
out, I thought I was going to have to revert to an earlier version. I
found an earlier bug report # 1292475 that they were missing and that
was enough to figure it out, just to show it was not expected. I'm not
the only person to run into the missing Optimizer and Exposure tabs,
putting those settings in the first tab (Photo) breaks the work flow
since in the logical order it comes after control points and before the
stitcher like it used to.
