I got the same problem and depends in how the manufacturer of the laptop
had connected the cards and switches. In some laptops is impossible to
bypass the Optimus (in my case) because it's only conected to the
integrated graphics. If you can't select the nVidia card from BIOS you
can't bypass Optimus.
