Hi, I'm new to this mailing list and I'm happy to report that this fix
works on the L701X too (Dell XPS 17)

My battery consumption went from around 2800-2900mW to 1800-1900mW.

I'm finally getting what I paid for. A big notebook with long battery
life, something I wasn't being able to get until I got this fix!!
