Re: HDMI is unreliable with nvidia optimus on asus n53sv
Hi,
I'm not sure that the best solution is the complete change in distribution,
when the problem is more likely to be in a low level software component.
However it is extremely interesting that you have software that works.
(Even windows only offers me the VGA port when I attempt to set dual monitors.
However I am no windows guru.)
I wonder if you would be able to tell me what version of the intel xorg graphics driver
you are using.
The latest drivers would appear to originate at
http://cgit.freedesktop.org/xorg/driver/xf86-video-intel/
and the last tagged release there is 2.19.0, and the ubuntu package I have installed is
2:2.19.0-0ubuntu~xup1, for xserver-xorg-video-intel. So I assume they correspond.
I would assume that the nvidia graphics comes in at a higher level and that the intel graphics
handles the piping to HDMI, LVDS, VGA etc. So bumblebee or ironhide possibly wouldnt matter.
Thanks for replying,
Peter Garrone
