Turns out it was launching the old version of HypeDyn. Needed to
reassign which application opens .dyn files.

  double-clicking a v2.2 file gives a version error

Status in HypeDyn:
  Invalid

Bug description:
  Double-clicking a v2.2 file gives an error saying that the file was
  created in a newer version (2.2). See attached. Same file opens
  correctly from File->Open.
