Work in Progress...
Hi,
In case list members are wondering... a short update.
Yes, I _am_ working on inx-rc2, which I hope will be almost the same as
the "final" release.
Work in progress includes:
* A "first screen" in "transitional" colours, (browns /
yellows), that pops up on boot, with the following options:
1 - An introduction "Getting Started with INX", which will have
a brief rundown on what the menus do etc.
2 - Credits
3 - Some "Advanced" information for more experienced users,
or people who want to hack on the scripts, and so on.
4 - The GPL Version 3, since that's the licence we are using
for INX scripts.
- Hit any other key but [1-4] to get the main INX menu, for
the terminally impatient, or the silly ;-p
* Probably a more flexible choice of time and date display
formats - I am working on little script for this, so that
people can choose between international standards like 24 hr
time or Commonwealth or USA formats, and so on, for the time
display toggled on|off with "t".
* Incorporating the wrapper script that *finally* seems to make
links2 -g / xlinks2 run with directfb *from the menus*.
I will keep you posted, and of course post the URLs as and when the new
iso is uploaded. I hope this will be Real Soon Now (tm), or When It's
Ready (tm).
;-)
